Philadelphia — Reports say at least 4 Officers were injured and 3 were hospitalized when a suspect driving a purple Chrysler rammed the car at Officers Tuesday afternoon.

The scene began on the 700 block of Chew Street where a man driving a vehicle hit a police officer just before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

FOX 29’s Dave Schratwieser says the suspect led police on pursuit on Stenton and Ogontz and stopped on the 1900 block of Colonial Street where shots were fired by police. Sources tell FOX 29 four officers are injured. At least three officers are being treated at Einstein Hospital. Police say preliminarily the officers’ injuries are non-life threatening.

According to Dave Schratwieser there’s two police vehicles with damage; one is a sedan, the other is a police van. There is also another car with damage, which is an an older Mercury Sable.

One Officer shot the suspect, striking him in the chest, MyFoxPhilly reported. His condition is unknown. It’s unclear what led up to the incident. An investigation is ongoing.
