Promises made. Promises kept.
Planned Parenthood announced today that they will withdraw from the Title X program. They made the move because they refuse to follow a new Trump administration rule that requires them to separate their abortion business from health care. Because of the move by Planned Parenthood, they will lose $60 million in taxpayer dollars.
This $60 million will now be given to legitimate women’s health care providers.
Planned Parenthood tweeted out a defiant message:
Today, the Trump admin is forcing us out of the Title X program — our nation's program focused on family planning, of which we serve 40% of patients. This is a *direct attack* on Planned Parenthood and on our health and rights, and we will not stand for it. #StandWithPP #ProtectX pic.twitter.com/WRMvzGafNq

Republican Steve Scalise tweeted out support to President Trump: “Planned Parenthood is clearly revealing itself to be in the business of abortion, not health care. I’m proud to see Donald Trump stand up to Planned Parenthood, and prevent taxpayer funding from subsidizing the abortion industry.”
Life News reports that leading pro-life groups have praised the Trump administration for prioritizing women’s health ahead of abortion. This action adds to President Trump’s record of defunding the Planned Parenthood abortion company.
Title X funds are supposed to be used to help low-income women and men receive birth control, cancer screenings and other health care services. While the tax money cannot be used to pay for abortions, it indirectly funds Planned Parenthood’s vast abortion business.
