Thank goodness for Liberty Institute! They’ve stepped up to help Coach Kennedy in his fight for religious freedom. This story got national attention and highlights the battle against Christianity by the left.

Washington high school football coach Joe Kennedy was placed on leave from Bremerton High School for publicly praying with players.

Kennedy and his lawyer, Mike Berry, Esq., senior counsel for Liberty Institute have filed a religious discrimination complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) against the school district.

Kennedy explained that it started out with him praying alone, giving thanks for the team. Eventually, students asked if they could join him in prayer, which expanded to opposing teams and coaches joining in.

He said that he was told by the school district to stop and was informed that he couldn’t even pray by himself at the 50-yard line after the game.

Berry asserted that Kennedy has his First Amendment right to engage in prayer.

“I don’t understand why the school district feels the need to bully this coach like this,” Berry said.

He revealed that Liberty Institute offered to meet with school district on multiple occasions, but administrators were unwilling to meet face-to-face.
