This is a great lesson for this first-time voter…vote with your feet! Refuse to shop there or have them bake a cake for you. The fact that this baker couldn’t bring herself to write TRUMP on the cake is idiotic!  This has nothing to do with copyrighted phrases but everything to do with politics. Nice try though! What do you think about this cake situation? Was it all a misunderstanding or politics?

McKenzie Gill, of Bossier City, Louisiana turns 18 this year — and she plans on casting her very first presidential vote for Donald Trump.

“Trump is just someone I really look up to,” she told television station KSLA.

McKenzie decided to commemorate this monumental moment with a birthday cake — made by the good folks at Albertson’s.

She wanted an American flag cake — with the words Trump 2016.

But as KSLA reports – the baker refused to include the word Trump – just flat-out turned her down.

“She was like, ‘I can make you a flag cake but I’m not going to write Trump on it,'” she told the television station.

So McKenzie and her mom had to go somewhere else to get that birthday cake. Later, she wrote about the incident on Facebook and well – as you might expect – it went viral.

Faster than you could blow out a birthday candle, Albertson’s released an apology:

“We apologize to our customer in Bossier City for the situation regarding the cake that was requested. Our Bakery staff member misunderstood the training provided regarding copyrighted phrases, and incorrectly informed the customer we could not fulfill her request. We would be happy to provide the cake as the customer requested.”

McKenzie says it’s all good – and she still plans on voting for Mr. Trump in November — proving you really can have your cake and candidate, too.
