The suspect in this manhunt is armed and dangerous. Four Texas troopers were injured and lucky to be alive. From the looks of the rap sheet on this thug it appears as though he’s a drug runner.

Amarillo, TX – Four DPS Troopers are injured after a routine traffic stop in Conway leads to an active manhunt in Claude.

Trooper Chris Ray of the DPS said after troopers pulled over the vehicle, the driver got out of the car and began a scuffle with officials.

During the scuffle, the driver of the vehicle jumped back into his car and took off. At this point, Troopers tried to stop the runaway-vehicle, and according to Trooper Ray, were either thrown off the vehicle or hit.

Officials identify the driver as 25-year-old Victor Apodaca. He is wanted out of Clovis for several counts of stolen firearms, Possession with intent to traffic Methamphetamine and Heroin, and Distribution of Marijuana.

Two Troopers were treated at the scene and the other two were sent to the hospital. One has since been released and the other will stay over night for monitoring. It is unclear at this time the extent of the injuries.

Trooper Ray said Apodaca is still on the loose. Carson County, Potter County, DPS, Armstrong County Sheriff’s Department, and the Claude Police Department have responded to the scene.
