If our next President is a Republican, and if he is allowed to appoint the next Supreme Court Justice, it will be very difficult to find a replacement who has Scalia’s brilliant mind and absolute defense of our United States Constitution…Â

Gun rights groups like the National Rifle Association said that conservative Justice Antonin Scalia’s death Saturday puts gun rights on the line.
“We are one justice away from a Supreme Court that would harm our Second Amendment rights,” said the NRA.

The organization plans to spend over $20 million on the upcoming election to push gun rights and is concerned about the ages of court justices, believing the the next president will have a chance at choosing the four judges. “In my view, all the chips are on the table in this election because the impact is who gets the Supreme Court,” said the NRA’s chief, Allan D. Cors in an interview with Secrets this month. Sen. Ted Cruz, running strong in the GOP presidential election, said Saturday night that the Second Amendment “stands in the balance.”
