The shocking video was filmed in Port of Piraeus, where refugees have been demonstrating against plans to bus them out to other areas of the country. A tiny baby is held aloft as a man threatens to throw the child at police during ugly clashes between migrants and officers in Greece.

Tempers flared after refugees in Port of Piraeus were told they were being moved north to a purpose built camp near the capital of Athens.

Shocking video shows dozens of migrants crowding around a small group of officials who are dragging a man away.

Suddenly a man in a green shirt appears holding a newborn baby over his head and angrily confronts authorities.

The child is held by the neck and legs and is roughly shaken as a series of people try to snatch the baby back off the man.

According to various reports, including Ekathimerini.com , the man threatened to throw the child after they stopped him from smashing up a car.

Eventually the baby is taken off the man and can be seen being shepherded out of the throng in the arms of a man in a pink shirt.

The man who had threatened to throw the baby is seen being held back by several people.

The port has become an open-air home to thousands of stranded migrants in recent months after neighbouring countries closed their borders.

Greece this week began bussing the refugees to other locations around the country, a move which has further increased tensions between migrants and authorities.
