Thank goodness for the people who complained and got this t-shirt taken off of the store website.

The popular clothing company, PacSun, came under fire this week after promoting a Memorial Day display featuring a T-shirt with an image of an upside-down American flag on the front.

PacSun’s Facebook page has been inundated with complaints about the image for several days.

On Twitter, outrage about the shirt prompted the hashtag #boycottpacsun.

The T-shirt was part of the store’s A$AP Worldwide collection and has been available since 2014, according to the company website.

On Monday evening, the retailer issued its first response to the controversy with a post on Facebook, announcing it was pulling the shirt.

“As a retailer grounded in youth culture, PacSun values artistic and creative expression through the brands that we sell in our stores. Out of respect for those who have put their lives on the line for our country, we have decided to stop selling the licensed flag t-shirt and are removing it from our stores and website immediately. We thank the men and women in uniform for their extraordinary service.”
