An armed man with a ski mask was arrested on Monday near the Republican National Convention.

“Per federal law enforcement source, yesterday, HSI & Capitol Police surveilling the RNC secure perimeter stopped a suspicious man wearing a ski mask blocks away from Fiserv Forum. I’m told he had a AK47 pistol, a full magazine, & a Scream mask in a large backpack he was carrying. Milwaukee PD arrested him. Unknown what his plans or intentions were,” Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin stated.

“Milwaukee PD confirms they arrested a 21-year-old man who was carrying a concealed weapon & did not have a legal CCW permit. They sent me the following statement. Secret Service referred me to Milwaukee PD, and I’ve reached out to DHS for comment. More details as they come,” he added.

Per Fox News:

This is not the only disturbing security concern to take place at the RNC. On Tuesday, a man was shot and killed by police about 2 miles from Fiserv Forum. A witness told Fox News the man lived in a nearby homeless camp and was brandishing a knife when he was shot.

Also on Tuesday, Rep. Derrick Van Orden, R-Minn., said he was assaulted by a protester. He said a member of CODEPINK assaulted him while he was waiting in line to enter the venue. He called it an “incident of political violence.”

CODEPINK said the woman “was intentionally bumped into by this bald, white member of Congress while he tried to shove past her.” The activist group denied Orden was assaulted.

This all comes as Tuesday’s theme of the RNC is “Make America Safe Once Again” and former President Donald Trump has called to address crime in Milwaukee.

From NDTV:

In a separate incident, a man – who was wielding two knives near the convention – was shot dead by the cops. According to the police, the man, identified by relatives as 43-year-old Samuel Sharpe, was armed with a knife in each hand. The situation escalated when Sharpe charged at an unarmed individual, prompting the officers to open fire. Two knives were recovered from the scene.

This comes days after a 20-year-old man was gunned down for trying to assassinate the 78-year-old former president at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

Trump survived with a nicked ear during his rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday after Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire at him. The attack left him with a bloodied face as the former president said the bullet pierced his “upper part of right ear”.
