Two major announcements came out of the Oval Office today. The first was Trump’s commitment to withdrawing from Obama’s signature trade deal, the TPP. The behemoth trade deal he inherited from Barack Obama was never ratified by Congress, but the formal rejection of the deal signals a new era as it relates to US trade deals specifically with Asian countries. The second was the decision to place a freeze on the hiring of federal employees. Both of these announcements prove Trump wasn’t using the typical political rhetoric we hear every 2-4 years to get elected. Trump pledged to put “America First,” and by his actions, he’s proving that he clearly meant it…
Hillary was in favor of the TPP agreement when she was Secretary of State, but had a change of heart during the election. Democrats who were in favor of the TPP deal that live in blue states with heavy union support are going to have some explaining to do with the union donors, who in many cases funded their elections. Trump has sided with the American worker, and in doing so, he has actually done what the Democrats have only promised to do…but never delivered on.
Conservatives on Twitter rejoiced…

Meanwhile, almost 1.3 million jobs were saved or created by Trump before he even took office:
It’s really no that wonder union leaders, who donate millions to the Democratic Party and Democrat candidates (including Hillary Clinton’s campaign) cheered for Trump today when he made a major announcement that he was officially withdrawing the US from the TPP agreement.

Teamsters General President James P. Hoffa released a statement today praising President Trump and his withdrawal of the Trans Pacific Trade Agreement.
The following is a statement from Teamsters General President James P. Hoffa on President Donald Trump signing an executive order to formally withdraw the United States from the Trans Pacific Partnership.
“Today, President Trump made good on his campaign promise to withdraw the United States from the Trans-Pacific Partnership. With this decision, the president has taken the first step toward fixing 30 years of bad trade policies that have cost working Americans millions of good-paying jobs.
“The Teamsters Union has been on the frontline of the fight to stop destructive trade deals like the TPP, China PNTR, CAFTA and NAFTA for decades. Millions of working men and women saw their jobs leave the country as free trade policies undermined our manufacturing industry. We hope that President Trump’s meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto on Jan. 31 opens a real dialogue about fixing the flawed NAFTA.
“We take this development as a positive sign that President Trump will continue to fulfill his campaign promises in regard to trade policy reform and instruct the USTR to negotiate future agreements that protect American workers and industry.”
