GRAPHIC VIDEO BUT THIS SHOWS HEROIC POLICE OFFICERS RESCUING A SUICIDAL MAN:

A Texas man’s attempt at a fiery suicide Tuesday morning backfired big time — injuring two police officers, leaving the man with serious burns and setting him up for a likely charge of felony arson.

The Austin man, who hasn’t been identified, called police in the early morning and said he planned on committing suicide by setting himself on fire inside his car, according to KVUE. Officers arrived at a Stassney Food Mart off Interstate 35 around 2 a.m. to see him calmly wandering outside his car in the parking lot.

The officers asked him to come over, but instead he rushed into his car and, as police tried to rescue him, set himself ablaze and caused the car to explode — all of which was captured in a dramatic dash cam video.

The explosion knocked over one officer and blew the man out of his car — until he climbed back inside, only to eject himself moments later, screaming in agony while convulsing until he collapsed as officers apprehended him.
