U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has detained over 1,300 illegal immigrants in Colorado, resulting in a 300 percent increase in apprehensions.

According to data cited by Breitbart, ICE has made 1,355 arrests in the Democrat-led state.

Breitbart explained:

Federal data shows that in the latest period ending on June 10, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested 1,355 people. That compares to the 342 who were picked up during the final year of the Biden administration. That is a 300 percent rise. The arrest rate has averaged about nine per day, according to the Denver Post.

Those taken into custody come from Mexico and Central and South America, as well as foreign countries including Afghanistan.

ICE is also ramping up arrests in other sanctuary states.

With 1,120 arrests since June, Illinois, for instance, has been a major focus of immigration actions. Arrests there are up 98 percent, while New York’s are up 79 percent, according to the New York Times.

The percentages are less informative than the actual numbers, though. While the administration has grabbed up 1,120 in Illinois (mostly in the Chicago area), in New York it was 2,810. But those numbers pale in comparison to the 5,860 picked up in California, the 9,080 in Florida, and the whopping 20,150 in Texas.

“Between when President Donald Trump returned to office in January and June 10, 1,355 people in Colorado have faced administrative arrest by federal immigration authorities, according to ICE data. That’s a nearly 300% increase from the same period in 2024,” The Denver Post stated.

Axios noted:

ICE’s footprint in Colorado could soon grow.

Private prison giant CoreCivic is eyeing dormant facilities in Burlington and Walsenburg to expand detention operations, CPR reports.

An estimated $170 billion of the “big, beautiful bill” President Trump signed Friday has been designated for immigration enforcement, including more than $45 billion for ICE detention space.

Currently, the state has only one ICE detention facility — the Aurora ICE Processing Center.

Federal immigration authorities are also expanding operations in Los Angeles, a sanctuary city, conducting a massive operation this week involving “hundreds” of federal agents and military personnel.
