20-year-old Dutch cyclist Mark Groeneveld recently passed away after he reportedly experienced a sudden heart attack, according to multiple outlets.

“The cycling world is mourning the death of young Dutch cyclist Mark Groeneveld. The Dutchman – who competed for the continental Canadian cycling team XSpeed United – collapsed in public on the night from Sunday to Monday, most likely due to a heart attack,” Cycling Up To Date wrote.

Per Cycling Up To Date:

Medical assistance was of no further use. Groeneveld was only twenty years old.

Groeneveld raced in Hong Kong last Sunday. The young Dutchman was at the start of the Hong Kong Cyclothon, a UCI road race of 1.1 level. Groeneveld dropped out early in that race due to equipment failure. His team XSpeed United said in a statement that his death was not race-related.

News.com.au also reported on the cyclist’s tragic death:

The cycling world has been left in shock after the death of rising Dutch cyclist Mark Groeneveld at the age of 20.

The young XSpeed United rider collapsed in public on Sunday night while away cycling in the Hong Kong Cyclothon.

According to a report from Dutch newspaper Noordhollands Dagblad, Groeneveld collapsed after the race and could not be resuscitated by paramedics.

While the authorities have not yet confirmed a cause of death and were investigating the situation, he reportedly suffered a suspected heart attack.

His team XSpeed United revealed the circumstances of his death will be investigated.

The team also paid tribute in a statement saying: “It is with a heavy heart that we inform the passing of Mark Groeneveld.

The Dutchman’s sudden death continues a frightening trend amongst cyclists.

Groeneveld is reportedly the fifth Dutch or Flemish cyclist to pass away or suffer serious heart problems this year.

The Daily Sceptic has the details:

This would make Groeneveld the fifth Dutch or Flemish cyclist to be stricken by serious heart problems this year. Groeneveld’s death comes just one month after the Flemish cyclist Nathan Van Hooydonck got into a car crash after suffering what the Belgian paper De Morgen has described as “cardiac arrest” while driving. The incident happened on September 12th, just two days after the conclusion of the Tour of Great Britain, in which Van Hooydonck helped his teammate Wout van Aert of Team Jumbo Vista to victory.

Van Hooydonck, who was 27 years old at the time of the incident, would have to be placed in an artificial coma. He would subsequently undergo surgery to have a defibrillator implanted. He has retired from professional racing.

Just two weeks before the Van Hooydonck incident, in the early hours of August 29th, the 32-year-old Dutch cyclist Wesley Kreder of the French Cofidis team suffered what he himself has described as “cardiac arrest” while sleeping. “I’m happy to be alive,” Kreder told the Dutch public broadcaster NOS. Kreder has also announced his retirement from competitive racing.

Two other professional cyclists, the 35-year-old Flemish cyclist Sep Vanmarcke and the 25-year-old Dutch cyclist Jarno Mobach, announced their retirements this summer after they were both discovered to have heart tissue scarring. Mobach is a former winner of the junior version of the prestigious Paris-Roubaix race. Vanmarcke announced his retirement in July and Mobach in late September, just a couple of days after Van Hooydonck’s announcement.

How many in the cycling community will question if these cyclists all took the experimental biological product foisted onto the world?

The experimental shot that’s known to cause cardiac-related side effects like myocarditis and pericarditis.

In a recent press release, Pfizer acknowledged the increased risk of myocarditis and pericarditis following COVID-19 inoculation.

From Pfizer:

Authorized or approved mRNA COVID-19 vaccines show increased risks of myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle) and pericarditis (inflammation of the lining outside the heart), particularly within the first week following vaccination. For COMIRNATY, the observed risk is highest in males 12 through 17 years of age. Seek medical attention right away if you have any of the following symptoms after receiving the vaccine, particularly during the 2 weeks after receiving a dose of the vaccine:

  • chest pain
  • shortness of breath
  • feelings of having a fast-beating, fluttering, or pounding heart
