An Ohio man under electronic monitoring while awaiting court action for abduction and kidnapping charges has been arrested after impregnating a 14-year-old girl while holding her captive for four months.
Cody Jackson, 20, was arrested at a Greyhound bus station in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 8 after he fled Ohio when authorities stopped monitoring his movements.
FBI officials said Wednesday that Jackson is being brought back to Ohio to face charges in connection with the teen’s abduction.
Jackson faces federal charges of enticement and coercion of a minor to engage in sexual activity and production of child pornography, Cincinnati.com reported.
The Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office in Ohio is also charging him with four counts of rape, one count of kidnapping, four counts of unlawful sexual contact with a minor and one court of interference with custody.
Jackson was placed under electronic monitoring in September 2014 after he was charged with interference with abduction, kidnapping and custody in Hamilton County.
According to court records, he was accused of holding two females against their will in Blue Ash, Ohio in August 2014.
He was released with a monitor that tracked his movements after he paid $100,000 bond, Cincinnati.com reported.
Jackson lived in a Norwood apartment building while awaiting resolution of the criminal case, Fox 19 reported.
According to the FBI investigation, Jackson used Facebook to contact a 14-year-old girl in February that he asked to meet. He arranged for a taxi to pick her up and bring her to his apartment.
Since the monitoring system didn’t allow him to leave his apartment, he arranged the girl’s taxi trips almost every other day for three weeks, where he had sex with the teen during each visit, authorities said.
Jackson took control of the teen’s social media and email accounts and also purchased a phone for her to use after he broke hers, Fox 19 reported.
In addition, he created ‘rules for her to follow’ while she was at the apartment with him and if she disobeyed, she would be punished by him, Fox 19 reported.
The teen visited Jackson in March and that’s when he would not allow her to leave, the FBI said.
He reportedly dictated more rules for her to follow related to showering, clothing and contacting her family.
Jackson also verbally abused her and eventually physically abused her, the FBI said. The girl became pregnant after having sex daily with Jackson for more than a month.
The mother of one of his children eventually began staying at his apartment where he would order the 20-year-old woman to take the teen girl out of the apartment to avoid being detected by authorities.
Jackson pleaded guilty in July to a charge of interference of custody in connection with the 2014 incident and the remaining charges were dropped.
He was taken off the monitoring device and on that same day he fled the state, allowing the teen to escape the apartment with the help of the landlord, according to Cincinnati.com.
Jackson is also accused of using his Facebook accounts to transfer child pornographic images, Fox 19 reported.
