Police in the United Kingdom have arrested an 11-year-old child over ‘violent disorder’ regarding riots across the country.

Cleveland Police detained 14 people in raids conducted Wednesday, including the child.

The 11-year-old is believed to be the youngest individual arrested for suspicion of violent disorder.

Police arrested individuals between the ages of 11 and 43 years old.

Per Sky News:

The 11-year-old is thought to be the youngest person arrested over the nationwide disorder that followed the Southport stabbings.

Cleveland Police said they had now arrested 110 people following unrest in Hartlepool and Middlesbrough earlier this month.

After this morning’s arrests, Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Robinson, in charge of the operation to catch the Middlesbrough disorder suspects, said: “The message is ‘You haven’t got away with it’.”

“We can identify you and we will arrest you, you will be arrested and you will be put before the courts,” she said.

The Telegraph reports:

The 14 people arrested on Wednesday were detained in a series of coordinated raids. Before the officers set out, Supt Marc Anderson briefed them, saying: “I was silver commander on Sunday Aug 4 and never in my 30 years’ service have I seen anything like that in Middlesbrough.”

One strike team arrested two people at an address in St Catherine’s Court – a man aged 23 and a 43-year-old woman – on suspicion of violent disorder.

Neighbours looked on in shock as the officers banged on the suspects’ door before they were led away, with the man covering his face with a hoodie.

The arrested woman yelled at the media to stop filming her as she was escorted to a police van.

The team then moved on to an address in Limerick Avenue, Stockton, Teesside, where a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.
