Lily Tang Williams, a Republican congressional candidate in New Hampshire, called out her Democratic opponent for being unable to relate to the challenges of working-class Americans.

Democrat Maggie Goodlander repeated the rhetoric that tax breaks would only benefit the wealthy and “hope” it trickles down to the middle class.

“You are wealthy!” Tang Williams exclaimed.

“You are worth $20 million to $30 million,” she added.

“How do you know about regular people suffering? Do you go shopping, go to Walmart, buy food? I talk to those people, and you pretend to be a renter in Nashua. A few months ago [you] move back to run for this open seat with millions of dollars from Washington D.C. insiders and millions [and] millions [of] dollars,” Tang Williams continued.

“I don’t have money to run a TV ad, and you pretend you are poor, complain rent is so high. You could save that apartment for other people to rent in Nashua. Just go back to your $2 million home in Portsmouth. Please do not say that, because you do not understand regular people’s concerns,” she added.

WMUR reports:

Goodlander has worked in all three branches of federal government, from being a foreign policy adviser in the U.S. Senate to clerking on the Supreme Court and holding a senior advisory position in President Joe Biden’s White House.

She also has military experience as an intelligence officer in the Navy Reserve. Goodlander was born in Nashua and went to Yale for college and law school.

Tang Williams grew up in Maoist China. She worked as an attorney there before coming to the United States to study in Texas. She then went to Colorado, where she ran for the U.S. Senate as a Libertarian, before moving to New Hampshire.

This is her second campaign to represent the 2nd District.

“2nd District Republican Lily Tang Williams said during Thursday’s debate the only way to bring down costs is to cut government spending,” WMUR noted.

“My opponent @MaggieG603 did not condemn her boss Biden calling 50% of Americans ‘garbage’. I called them both out. I am running for Congress to save the American Dream. She has no solutions to help the people who are struggling besides her party talking points,” Tang Williams said.

Tang Williams made headlines earlier this year for her comments in a debate with gun control activist David Hogg.

“Welcome to my ‘Live Free or Die’ state. Actually, I am a Chinese immigrant who survived communism. And under Mao, you know, 40 million people were starving to death after he sold communism to them. And 20 million people died, murdered during his Cultural Revolution,” Tang Williams said.

“So my question to you, David, is that can you guarantee me, a gun owner tonight, our government in the U.S., in D.C., will never, never become a tyrannical government? Can you guarantee that to me?” she asked.

“There’s no way I can ever guarantee that any government will not be tyrannical,” Hogg replied.

“Well, then the debate on gun control is over because I will never give up my guns. Never. Never. And you should go to China to see how gun control works for the dictatorship of the CCP,” Tang Williams said.
