Pabst Blue Ribbon said on social media that a truck full of its beer was stolen in California.
“STOLEN – 40,000lbs of beer,” the company wrote on Instagram.
“To the thief: we don’t fault you for wanting to brag to your friends how much PBR you have, we just wish you obtained it the honorable way. Pabst is officially starting the clock now – you have exactly 18 days and 44 minutes to return our truckload of beer, no questions asked. Leading up to that time, we will be offering a reward to anyone who can help us solve this mystery,” the company continued.
“P.s. this is real and we are deadly serious,” it added.

The company did not explain the unusual countdown, though the 18-day, 44-minute window may be a nod to 1844, the year Pabst was founded.

“To clear up the confusion, this story is real,” Pabst wrote, urging anyone with information that could help solve the case to send a direct message.
As the deadline ticked down, the company warned that the “beer is getting warmer” while the trail gets colder.
It asked anyone who thinks they spotted the truck to snap a photo, tag Pabst or send a direct message with information about its whereabouts.
Montclair police are investigating two cargo thefts reported Aug. 17 at an Anheuser-Busch distribution center that investigators believe could be linked.
In the first incident, a shipment worth about $45,000 and bound for Tucson, Arizona, was picked up for delivery around 10 a.m. local time but never arrived, police said.
Some reports are saying this could be the biggest beer heist ever.
