Today, former President Donald Trump pled ‘not guilty’ to all 34 manufactured charges at his arraignment hearing in Manhattan.

Trump, the first former US president ever to be indicted, was charged with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in the first degree. Trump pled not guilty to all charges.

The charges together carry a maximum sentence of over 100 years in prison, but if convicted, Trump would likely serve significantly less actual jail time than that.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who is leading the witch hunt against Trump, is alleging that the former president falsified New York business records in order to “conceal damaging information and unlawful activity from American voters before and after the 2016 election.”

“The People of the State of New York allege that Donald J. Trump repeatedly and fraudulently falsified New York business records to conceal crimes that hid damaging information from the voting public during the 2016 presidential election,” said Bragg. “As the Statement of Facts describes, the trail of money and lies exposes a pattern that, the People allege, violates one of New York’s basic and fundamental business laws. As this office has done time and time again, we today uphold our solemn responsibility to ensure that everyone stands equal before the law.”

The former president said nothing as he entered the courtroom, and maintained his silence as he left after the hearing.

Following the arraignment hearing, Trump is headed back to Florida where plans to hold a press conference at Mar-a-Lago around 8:15 pm.

Although today has been a difficult day for Trump, many have expressed their continued support for him, as ’47th president’ began trending on Twitter.

Daniel F. Baranowski, a teaching fellow at the Harvard School of Public Health, tweeted, “Today is March 26th, 2023. Joe Biden remains the worst president ever. Donald J. Trump is already the greatest president in 100 years to hold the office & he will be our 47th president come 2025.”

Sebastian Gorka, the former Deputy Assistant to the President during Trump’s presidency, tweeted, “Today, his Enemies will make [Donald Trump] the 47th President of the United States.”

The next hearing in the case will be held on December 4, 2023, in the Lower Manhattan court.
