San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan gave a very emotional speech yesterday after their game. It wasn’t the usual victory speech but a heartwrenching speech because of a tragedy that had just happened to one of the players.

49ers backup quarterback C.J. Beathard’s brother Clayton (photo below) was stabbed to death outside of a Nashville bar early Saturday morning.

Following the win Saturday night against the Rams, Coach Shanahan spoke to the team about the tragic situation. He said C.J. was “distraught” over the murder of his brother.

He added that C.J. told him, “You make sure the guys go win this game.”

Two things stand out in this case. The man police are on a manhunt for has a record and should still be in jail. Also, this case is another example of why it’s a great idea to carry at all times.

What a tragedy. Please pray for the families of the victims.
