What a great moment in the Oval Office! A U.S. citizen who had been held hostage in Yemen visited the White House to celebrate his return home.

Danny Burch visited President Trump in the Oval Office after the president invited him to participate in a ceremony at the White House.

“We have a very big moment because we have Danny Burch back home where he should be. He was in Yemen in a very horrible situation, a captive, a prisoner, you can call him whatever you want but it wasn’t good. He was there for 18 months, a little more than 18 months, and we got him out and we had some great help from UAE and all of our friends.”

President Trump asked if Burch had anything to say.

Burch had just seven words to say that made the room break into applause:

“Gosh, it’s great to be an American.”

How often do you hear that from Americans? Not often enough! It’s a stunning reminder of just how lucky we are. Burch is the 20th American that President Trump has secured the release for since he came into office.

President Trump announced in February that he was able to get Burch released from Yemen after 18 months in captivity.

Burch is the 20th American hostage released under the Trump administration:
