New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has enjoyed the popularity and national recognition from his daily coronavirus briefings.

There was even talk of Cuomo stepping up to run for president. Cuomo may have turned off a big group of voters with his latest comments during his daily briefing. He took on an elitist attitude when asked about workers going back to their jobs. It didn’t go over well because he came off as heartless about the millions of unemployed Americans suffering during the coronavirus crisis.

A reporter asked Gov. Cuomo what he’d say to New Yorkers who want to go back to work because they’re running out of money, to which he replied, “economic hardship doesn’t equal death”

“You want to go to work? Go take a job as an essential worker” he added

Cuomo came off as defensive and didn’t listen to the very valid points the reporter had about job losses.
