According to the New York Post, the unidentified dad was packing heat as a would-be carjacker tried to take off with his children in the vehicle.
Here’s what reportedly happened next:
The suspected carjacker tried to yank the father away from the vehicle, which triggered a struggle as a young boy and the rest of the family bolted from the car.
Police said the father “produced a firearm” and fired more than 10 rounds at the suspect.
The suspected carjacker was rushed to a hospital, where he died from his injuries, Fox 4 reported. Police said they are still working to identify the suspect. Police only described him as a Hispanic male.
All passengers in the targeted vehicle, including the children, escaped without injury.
The father stayed at the scene, cooperated with investigators and turned over his weapon to officers to aid in their investigation.
The father received a combination of sympathy and praise on social media:
Democrats open border policies keep delivering deadly surprises to families.
This administration finally puts a stop to it.

Unfortunately he watched way too many videos of these things happening in blue cities in blue States with zero consequences. Good riddance.

Garland TX: A father had to use his 2A rights to protect his family from a dangerous carjacker.
The suspect had already smashed into two other cars and was going from vehicle to vehicle trying to force his way inside in a parking lot near Highway 66 and Dairy Road. He finally targeted a white Chevrolet Impala that had a dad, several children, and two adult women inside.
The father pulled his legally owned gun and fired multiple shots stopping the threat. The carjacker later died at the hospital.
This is exactly why the Second Amendment exists. Good job dad for protecting your family.
CBS News added these details:
Taylor Stanfield, who has lived in the area for 13 years and saw the aftermath, said the situation was too close to home.
“It’s definitely very concerning,” Stanfield said. “My kids are playing outside all the time, my wife is out there with them, and like I said, if somebody like this were able to drive away in that vehicle, who knows what could have happened.”
Police said the investigation remains ongoing, and no charges have been filed as of publication.
