As the country mourns the 21 lives lost to the school shooting in Texas, Barack Obama decided it was fitting to encourage us to turn our attention to a much more important cause: George Floyd.

After the brutal killing of 19 children and two teachers, Obama decided to pay tribute to George Floyd and an event that has absolutely nothing to do with the shooting in Texas.

Obama wrote,

“As we grieve the children of Uvalde today, we should take time to recognize that two years have passed since the murder of George Floyd under the knee of a police officer. His killing stays with us all to this day, especially those who loved him.”

Then, instead of posting about ways to help the families who lost their loved ones, our former president chose to post a link to the Obama Foundation’s site so you can get involved in a completely unrelated organization.

Basically, it’s too bad that children were murdered one day before the all-important anniversary of George Floyd’s murder… please refocus your attention on BLM, and please don’t forget to also support the Obama Foundation.

The loved ones of those who lost their lives deserve much more respect than this, especially from a former president.
