Ya gotta love this! This tradition has been in the family of the owners of the McDonald’s and they’re keeping it up. Wonder how long before someone raises a stink with McDonalds about this.

SPRING HILL, Tenn. – A photo of nativity scene painted on the windows of Tennessee McDonald’s is going viral.

Amy Basel posted the picture of the Spring Hill, Tennessee location. It shows Mary and Joseph kneeling next the Baby Jesus in a manger with a couple of barnyard animals rounding out the tableaux. The words “His name is Jesus” and “Rejoice” bookend the scene.

Basel, in her post stated: “Drove by and did a double-take. Growing up in the mitten, you would NEVER see this. Tennessee McDonald’s…you made my day. ‘His name is Jesus.'”

WZTV spoke with Gina Wolfe, who along with her husband Tony, owns five stores in the area, each of which has a nativity scene. She said that while the photo is just now going viral, it is far from anything new. Wolfe said her father started the tradition 40 years ago by hiring local art students.

Wolfe said the community continues to embrace the tradition.

Basel’s photo has been shared over 64,000 times.
