Uh Oh! Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders stepped into the Israel/Palestine battle full force when during a town hall he called the Israeli government “racist” against the Palestinians.

He’s going down the path of many other Democrats who are against Benjamin Netanyahu’s policies against Palestine.

Does he really believe that “right-wing” Netanyahu is running a ‘racist’ government in Israel or is this more about trying to demonize the “right-wing” for putting citizens first?

Netanyahu has done an incredible job protecting his citizens and putting them first. That has nothing to do with race but everything to do with being a great leader.

“But the fact of the matter is that Netanyahu is a right-wing politician, who I think is treating the Palestinian people extremely unfairly. The United States gives billions of dollars in military aid to Israel…what I believe is not radical. I just believe that the United States should deal with the Middle East on a level playing field basis. The goal must be to try to bring people together, and not just support one country, which is now run by a right-wing, dare I say, racist, government.” – Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders

Calling Netanyahu a “racist” is the trend for Democrats. Beto O’Rourke recently spoke out against the Israeli leader after he annexed the West Bank. The Democrats have pivoted to favor Palestine over Israel this election cycle.

The contrast between Democrats and Republicans when it comes to our policy with Israel was highlighted when Barack Obama was in office. Obama and Netanyahu did not see eye to eye but with Republican Donald Trump it’s a different story. President Trump has made our policy towards Israel a focus for his administration. In fact, PM Netanyahu just announced he’ll be naming a town in the Golan Heights after President Trump.
