President Biden was mocked across social media on Thursday after he made an odd and impossible proposal to build a railroad from the Pacific Ocean to the Indian Ocean.

The plan would involve over 8,000 miles of railroad and has never been considered by the United States or any government.

It is just the latest in a series of embarrassing gaffe’s made by Biden, whose Presidency has been characterized by incoherent statements that have made a majority of Americans question his mental fitness to lead the country.

In a recent NPR/PBS poll, 62% of Americans said they were concerned about Biden’s mental fitness to assume office for a second term, compared to only 36% who said they were not.

The White House has not yet provided comment on what Biden meant to say, or if he was serious about building a railroad connecting the Pacific Ocean and Indian Ocean.

Conservatives on Twitter were quick to have fun at Biden’s expense.

“Bold initiative, Mr. President,” Fox News contributor and former GOP Congressman Jason Chaffetz tweeted.

“Put Grandpa to bed,” Missouri GOP Sen. Josh Hawley’s press secretary Abigail Marone posted.

Biden made a similar gaffe last week when discussing plans to build a railroad.

“We’re talking about building — and I had my team putting together with other countries as well — to build a railroad from the Pacific Ocean — from the Atlantic Ocean all the way to the Indian Ocean,” he said at the time, mistakenly describing a proposal to construct a rail line crossing sub-Saharan Africa.

FOX News Reports

President Biden raised eyebrows on social media this week after appearing to reveal plans to build a railroad from the Pacific Ocean “across” the Indian Ocean.

“We have plans to build a railroad from the Pacific all the way across the Indian Ocean,” Biden told the League of Conservation Voters at their annual dinner in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday night. “We have plans to build in Angola, one of the largest solar plants in the world. I could go on, but I’m not. I’m going off script. I’m going to get in trouble.”

Biden’s comment was quickly met with skepticism on social media on the idea that one Twitter commenter called an “ocean train.”
