FOX News White House Correspondent Peter Doocy and Biden Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre got in to a heated and confusing exchange on Tuesday.

The debate kicked off after Doocy challenged Pierre over claims that illegal immigration has seen a 90% reduction under President Biden, a claim that is meritless as the southern border has experienced nearly unprecedented illegal immigration levels under the Biden administration.

Pierre then backtracked, citing a specific program that she claims has resulted in a one percent reduction in illegal immigration, a significant step down from the 90 percent figure she cited earlier.

The Biden administration’s policies have played a direct role in the significant increase in illegal immigration, according to conservative immigration experts.

“Mayorkas has eviscerated our interior immigration enforcement apparatus—meaning that once an illegal alien enters our country, they become virtually impossible to remove,” said Matthew Tragesser at the Federation for American Immigration Reform.

The uptick in illegal immigration led to U.S Customers and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Chris Magnus being dismissed from his position earlier this year.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has also faced calls from Congressional and Senate Republicans to be impeached.

“You said yesterday that when it comes to illegal migration, you’ve seen it come down by more than 90%. Where did that number come from?” Doocy asked her.

“I hear you, I’m about to answer” she told him amid cross talk.

“If the dramatics would come down just a little bit,’ she admonished him, before telling him: ‘I’m going to answer.”

‘What’s dramatic about asking a question?’ he asked her.

Then Jean-Pierre indicated that she was referencing a particular program at her Monday briefing.

“So I was speaking to the parolee program. As you know, the President put in place a parolee program to deal with to deal with certain countries on on ways that we can limit illegal migration. And we have seen the data has shown us that is gone down by more than a percent. That was what I was speaking to,” she said.
