Biden’s Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm is facing major backlash after suggesting that Americans who are suffering under the weight of inflation can lower their energy costs by installing solar panels, which costs between $15,000 to $25,000.

Granholm appeared on “Fox News Sunday,” where she discussed the Democrat’s $437 billion climate and health care legislation. She said that this bill will provide tax rebates for lower- and middle-class Americans to weatherize their homes.

“If you are low income, you can get your home entirely weatherized through the expansion from the bipartisan infrastructure laws, a significant expansion – you don’t have to pay for anything,” said Granholm. “If you want heat pumps, insulating, new windows, that is covered.”

The Energy Secretary also suggested that, for the Americans who struggle to buy groceries and gas, it would be a good idea to prioritize the purchase of solar panels because the government will give you 30% off.

“If you are moderate income, today you can get 30% off the price of solar panels. Those solar panels can be financed, so you don’t have to have the big outlay at the front… it’s a significant incentive,” Granholm said.

“If you don’t qualify for the weatherization program, you will be able to, starting next year, get rebates on the appliances and equipment that will help you reduce your monthly energy bill by up to 30%,” she continued. “That is all about reducing costs for people.”

Since making these suggestions, Granholm has been slammed on social media for her out-of-touch comments that push the Biden administration’s agenda while totally ignoring the real problems that the country is facing right now.

Many people are questioning the timing of this push for solar panels during a time when people are struggling to afford daily necessities. Others have pointed out that the low-income population that Granholm is advertising to may not have their own single-family home that they can install solar panels on.

So, while Americans face a 40-year high inflation rate, the Biden regime ignores the real issues and instead tries to turn attention to their “clean energy” initiatives. In reality, they don’t care about the American people who are struggling to put food on their table or take care of their families. Instead, they want to be able to say “look at all the great things we did” to try and cover up the administration’s utter failure to rectify our economy.
