Several key Republicans pushed back on the shocking move by the Chair of the Senate Intl Committee to subpoena Donald Trump Jr. over his Trump Tower meeting.
President Trump also spoke out to express his surprise at the subpoena since Don Jr. had given over 20 hours of testimony already:
“My son is a good person… my son was totally exonerated by Mueller… and frankly, for my son, after being exonerated, to now get a subpoena to go again & speak again… Yeah, I’m pretty surprised.”
Mick Mulvaney said it was “bad form” for the Senate Intel committee not to give the president a heads up on the effort to subpoena Don Jr.
Rand Paul slammed the Senate Intel Committee and Burr saying maybe they didn’t get the intel that the “case is closed”.
Apparently the Republican chair of the Senate Intel Committee didn’t get the memo from the Majority Leader that this case was closed… https://t.co/jvV5PIX266

Republican leader Kevin McCarthy says “It’s time to move on”
.@DonaldJTrumpJr has already spent dozens of hours testifying in front of Congressional committees. Endless investigations—by either party—won't change the fact that there was NO collusion. It's time to move on. It’s time to focus on ISSUES, not investigations. https://t.co/fbFH5uMLUz

Lindsey Graham knows it’s a trap and advises Don Jr. not to do it:

It’s being reported that not a single Republican on the Senate Intel Committee agrees with the move by Burr!
RINO Burr of North Carolina reportedly snapped back at criticism from conservatives on Don Jr. subpoena; “maybe you didn’t hear me when I said I’m not going to talk to you guys right now.”
Something is not right here with the sudden subpoena of Don Jr. and Devin Nunes knows it:
“I think they want to bring Don Jr. in, from what I can tell, to see if he will keep the same story or admit to whether or not he talked to his father, blah, blah, blah, about the Trump Tower meeting.”
It’s a trap and let’s hope Don Jr. doesn’t fall for it.
