The timing of the warning seems a bit odd, given that the Mt. Pleasant Police Department has only issued two other warnings on their Twitter account Since October 2016, and both warnings were reminders to residents about keeping their cars locked and removing valuables from your vehicle.
We here in the Village of Mount Pleasant (WI) take numerous theft from vehicle complaints. Leaving your vehicles unlocked gives burglars an open invitation to help themselves! Be sure to lock and take your valuables out of your vehicle when unattended!#LockIt #MPPD pic.twitter.com/bbWCi30LcV
