Over Memorial Day weekend a group of about 40 teens brutally attacked three Marines at a beach in California. The horrendous event was captured on video and nine teens have since been arrested for their involvement.
On Friday night, three Marines were enjoying time off near the San Clemente Pier when they asked a group of teenagers to stop lighting off fireworks after a piece of debris hit one of them in the face.
According to one of the Marines, Hunter Antonino, the group was being “belligerent” and “obnoxious” so he “went up to them and told them to stop.”
However, the mob of teens, unhappy with being asked to stop setting off fireworks, decided to follow them as they were walking away.
“We told them we were Marines so they would leave – but they didn’t. They just kept going at it,” recalled Antonino in an interview with KCAL News.
As the trio began to walk up a flight of stairs away from the large group, one of the teens threw a punch, prompting the Marine he hit to turn around and go after his attacker.
The large group quickly swarmed the three Marines, violently beating them to the ground. In the video, someone is heard screaming, “Get that f***er! Get that f***er! F*** that f***er up!”
Soon, two of the Marines are laying on the ground in the fetal position as their attackers continue to punch and kick them, while the teen who threw the first punch poured a drink over one of them.
The attack only ended when an adult male and female stepped in and yelled at the group to stop.
The disturbing footage of the assault has since gone viral.

On Tuesday, law enforcement arrested nine teens who were involved in the attack. While the identities of the teens will not be released because they are minors, it has been reported by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office that four males and one female have been charged with assault with a non-firearm deadly weapon.
“Due to the suspects being juveniles, no further information will be released regarding them at this time,” said law enforcement. “Also, due to the nature of the incident and the large number of individuals involved, the investigation is ongoing.”
According to CBS News, four other minors were charged with misdemeanor assault and battery.
