The two potential suspects in the Smollet investigation are under arrest for battery. There’s a discrepancy on what Smollett told the Chicago police and the men arrested today. Smollett initially told the police that racial things were said.  These suspects are Nigerian brothers (pictured below). The profile certainly doesn’t fit what Smollett told the police when he said two people yelled racist and homophobic things at him. He said they also shouted, “This is MAGA country!” when they attacked him.

The charges could change, but for now, it’s a charge of battery for the two Nigerian men who had been extras on Smollett’s show ‘Empire.’ The interesting thing is that Smollett is friends with these guys. He follows them on Instagram and works out with one of them.

This is a developing story, but TMZ is reporting:

The men are brothers from Nigeria named Olabinjo (pictured below on the right) and Abimbola Osundairo (pictured below on the left), and Chicago cops are now calling them “potential suspects” … as opposed to persons of interest.

After two Nigerian men were questioned by Chicago police and their apartment was searched (see below), the case was blown wide open with the report that Smollett staged the attack because he was being written out of the show.

Jussie Smollett had been in Chicago filming the show ‘Empire’  when he claimed he was attacked by two men who yelled: “This is MAGA country!”

The anti-Trump crowd went ballistic and went all out with support for Smollett.

The Chicago Police Department and the FBI were brought in to investigate. They dispute reports below, but it’s being reported that this was staged. Even though, Anthony Guglielmi chief communications officer for the Chicago Police, said: “we have no evidence to support their reporting,” Rob Elgas has been spot on from the beginning.

What we do know is that the two Nigerian men and Jussie Smollett are still being interviewed by the CPD

Here’s what’s being reported:

Rob Elgas is a trusted source who has been reporting on this story since it happened. He just reported:

BREAKING: Multiple sources tell Eyewitness News Jussie Smollet and the 2 men who are being questioned by police staged the attack – allegedly because his character was being written out of the show Empire.

Charlie De Mar of CBS Chicago posted a photo of the list of things taken from the apartment of the two Nigerian men. One item is a script from the show ‘Empire’.
