On Monday evening, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot issued a”call to arms” over the leaked Supreme Court draft ruling that suggested Roe v. Wade could be overturned.
Lightfoot tweeted,
“To my friends in the LGBTQ+ community – the Supreme Court is coming for us next. This moment has to be a call to arms.”
She added,
“We will not surrender our rights without a fight – a fight to victory!”
We will not surrender our rights without a fight—a fight to victory!

Lightfoot is now facing backlash for inciting violence, with many Twitter users pointing to her hypocritical attacks on Trump for “inciting violence” on January 6.
I think someone just called for an insurrection https://t.co/vL1M55zw9f

Back in 2021, Lightfoot tweeted, “I am in disbelief with what is unfolding in D.C. right now. President Trump and his enablers incited this violence. Shame on every elected official in Congress and elsewhere who fomented this anti-democratic insurrection by extremists. This is not democracy. This is a disgrace.”
The Chicago Mayor harshly condemned Trump for causing an “anti-democratic insurrection” at the Capitol, but then thinks it’s okay for her to explicitly call for violence against the Supreme Court. Imagine what would happen to Trump – or any GOP leader – if they told their supporters to “take up arms” and use violence to defend their opinions?
Typical of the hypocritical Left.
