From John Boehner to his replacement, Paul Ryan, Republicans have been forced to suffer through the leadership of wishy-washy, go-along-to-get-along Speakers of the House for far too many years.

Freedom Caucus leader, Rep. Jim Jordan’s announced his intent to run for the retiring Paul Ryan’s seat, as the next Speaker of the House, in a letter to his fellow House members. Jordan’s announcement could be just the news the Republicans and President Trump has been waiting for.

At long last, conservatives may finally have the opportunity to see a real conservative at the helm of the House of Representatives.

Not surprisingly, Speaker Ryan, who frequently finds himself at odds with the Freedom Caucus leader is supporting Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, of California, to succeed him as Speaker.

In his letter to Congress, Rep. Jordan lists his top priorities as repealing Obamacare, a complete reform of our welfare system, which includes ensuring that all able-bodied Americans are working in order to obtain benefits, building a wall on our southern border, fixing our broken immigration system, and making it “fairer” for highly skilled people who want to come here to work legally. He also lists making the 2017 tax cuts permanent as part of his agenda, ending taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood, and finally, enacting immediate and meaningful spending cuts to ensure we never see $1 trillion again.

Rep. Jordan reminded his fellow Republicans in the House of the bold actions President Trump has taken on “behalf of the American people” in his letter, reminding members of  Congress that they have not held up their end of the deal:

“President Trump has taken bold action on behalf of the American people” telling them, “It’s time to do what we said. Congress has not held up its end of the deal, but we can change that. It’s time to do what we said.”

In his letter to Congress, Rep. Jordan also admonished the majority Republican House of Representatives for “forfeiting” their power and caving to the swamp on the Omnibus issue. Jordan wrote:

“When Senator Schumer shut down the government because he wanted amnesty for illegal aliens, and then reopened it days later, we were poised to win the Omnibus spending debate. By holding firm, we could have broken the pattern of giving the Left a dollar to fund big government for every dollar we spent funding the troops.

“We didn’t even have that debate, though,”  “We simply forfeited and did what the swamp always does. We gave more money to everything.

“If we couldn’t harness the discipline to do the right thing on non-defense discretionary spending, how will we ever find the courage to do the right thing on fixing Medicare, Social Security, and other entitlements?”

Yesterday, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) joined Rep. Mark Meadows (R., N.C.) to introduce articles of impeachment against Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. Speaker Ryan opposed the move to impeach Rosenstein.

The Hill writer Scott Wong tweeted the letter Congressman Jordan sent to his fellow members of Congress. In his letter, Jordan

Jim Jordan has been a critical voice, fighting back against the Democrat Party and their allies in the mainstream media, as they attempt to falsely accuse President Trump of colluding with the Russians to affect the outcome of our 2016 presidential election. Congressman Jordan has been on the front lines, fighting to reveal the truth about the discredited dossier that was used to obtain the FISA warrants the Obama regime used to spy on the Trump campaign.

In the video below, Jim Jordan can be seen grilling Deputy AG Rosenstein, during the House Judiciary Committee. Jordan doesn’t hold back, as he unloads on Obama’s crooked DOJ and Comey’s FBI.

Watch:

In a poll on Twitter by conservative comedian Tim Young, Jim Jordan overwhelmingly wins the support of Republican for the role of Speaker of the House.
