House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member and impeachment hearing rockstar, Devin Nunes (R-CA) announced on Friday night that he’s filing a lawsuit against CNN and The Daily Beast for publishing fake news hit pieces accusing him of meeting with a former Ukrainian prosecutor to discuss digging up dirt on former VP Biden and his son Hunter Biden.

Breitbart News reports – Two pieces recently published in both outlets–one from Daily Beast earlier this week, and one from CNN published late Friday–alleged that the Rudy Giuliani associate Lev Parnas, who is now indicted on unrelated charges, helped Nunes with a variety of matters when digging into Ukrainian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election on behalf of Democrats.

Nunes told Breitbart News, “These demonstrably false and scandalous stories published by the Daily Beast and CNN are the perfect example of defamation and reckless disregard for the truth,” Nunes told Breitbart News late Friday night. “Some political operative offered these fake stories to at least five different media outlets before finding someone irresponsible enough to publish them. I look forward to prosecuting these cases, including the media outlets, as well as the sources of their fake stories, to the fullest extent of the law. I intend to hold the Daily Beast and CNN accountable for their actions. They will find themselves in court soon after Thanksgiving.”

Here’s a portion of the CNN story:

A lawyer for an indicted associate of Rudy Giuliani tells CNN that his client is willing to tell Congress about meetings the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee had in Vienna last year with a former Ukrainian prosecutor to discuss digging up dirt on Joe Biden.

The attorney, Joseph A. Bondy, represents Lev Parnas, the recently indicted Soviet-born American who worked with Giuliani to push claims of Democratic corruption in Ukraine. Bondy said that Parnas was told directly by the former Ukrainian official that he met last year in Vienna with Rep. Devin Nunes.

“Mr. Parnas learned from former Ukrainian Prosecutor General Victor Shokin that Nunes had met with Shokin in Vienna last December,” said Bondy.

Shokin was ousted from his position in 2016 after pressure from Western leaders, including then-vice president Biden, over concerns that Shokin was not pursuing corruption cases.

Rep. Devin Nunes has a history with the fake news network, in July 2018, a CNN White House reporter, Manu Naju,  tried to talk to Rep. Devin Nunes in the halls of Congress, he was immediately admonished by the Republican rock star who asked, “Do you really think I’m gonna talk to the leading Democratic Party propaganda…?”

Will CNN ever be held responsible for the fake news they peddle to Americans in their efforts to destroy President Trump and anyone who supports him?
