Donald Trump had a choice of Reince Priebus or Steve Bannon for the chief of staff position…he chose the insider to move things along…Reince Priebus. Priebus has been the chair of the RNC so he knows the inner workings of Washington.

Steve Bannon, the Trump campaign CEO and executive chairman of Breitbart News, was announced as a chief strategist and senior counselor.

“Steve and Reince are highly qualified leaders who worked well together on our campaign and led us to a historic victory. Now I will have them both with me in the White House as we work to make America great again,” Trump said in the release.

Steve Bannon was brought into the Trump campaign as an outsider and someone who had gone after establishment Republicans like Paul Ryan. As much as it would be great to have an outsider like Bannon, Prebus will be able to really get things moving. His experience on The Hill dealing with Congress is a plus.

Bannon, chair of the right-wing Breitbart News, became Trump’s campaign CEO in August.

Kelly Ann Conway said the Trump administration will combine experienced public servants and outsiders. “You can’t just appoint novices. You have to have people who know what they’re doing. This is an administration that is going to run very differently than typical Washington,” she said, according to The Hill.

“It tells you a great deal about President Trump that both of those men are to have important roles or senior roles in this administration,” Conway said Sunday,
