On Tuesday, Elon Musk suspended a Twitter user who posted a tweet featuring a ‘youth attracted person’ flag in support of pedophiles. The account was under the username Pot Luck Pony, which was shut down less than a day after the tweet was posted.
After Musk shut down the account, he condemned it in a tweet. The account had posted the blue, white, pink, and yellow flag on their timeline that is associated with pedophilia but did not have an identifiable username connected to the Twitter account. They claimed it was for ‘Alice Day’, which is a sick pseudo-holiday created by some to celebrate pedophilia.

The account posted: “Happy Alice Day to those who celebrate! I figured, why not use today to unveil the YAP (Youth Attracted Person) pride flag I designed almost a year ago? I wanted to stray from the oft-used horizontal bars motif, but only a little. I wanted to retain some familiarity.”

Musk kicked the person from the social media site and condemned the tweet. Dr. Anastasia Maria Loupis commended Musk for taking a stand to protect children, to which he replied, “Not tolerated on this platform.”
Dr. Loupis, whose account says she works as a medical doctor, posted: ‘Elon Musk suspended the person who made a pedophilia flag. Well done, Elon.’
When Musk said he would not tolerate pedophiles on Twitter, Dr. Loupis responded back, saying “Elon Musk is truly the most amazing person. He didn’t have to do any of this, but he is! He could just look the other way like the other billionaires. Thank you, @elonmusk, for everything you do!”

In December, amidst criticism over how the platform had previously handled inappropriate content involving children, Twitter slashed its child sexual abuse team in half.
In February, Musk let 200 more employees go, which has brought down the number of employees at Twitter to 2,000. The original number of employees was 7,500 when Musk first bought the social media giant.
Twitter naysayers who have attacked Musk for his stance on free speech have claimed that the platform is being used for child exploitation. But Musk has been quick to shoot down the insinuation. He tweeted a sarcastic response apologizing for “turning Twitter from a nurturing paradise into a place that has…trolls.”
