This is a reminder to never play with fire or otherwise attempt to play in an arena above one’s pay grade.
I will never understand how people like Fani Willis, officials, and lawmakers think they can do what they do without being squeaky clean, it boggles my mind.
If I were going to engage in a purely political, partisan prosecution of a former President I would dot my I’s and cross my T’s. I wouldn’t be involved in romantic relationships with attorneys on my payroll.
I also wouldn’t fire whistleblowers if I were such a high-profile person working on such a high-profile case, but Fani Willis seems to march to the beat of her own drum.
Following allegations from a whistleblower, who claimed that Willis misused funds meant for youth programs, the whistleblower was fired from Willis’ office.
According to that whistleblower, the funds were spent on Macbooks, luxurious clothing, and other personal items.
Following the seismic allegations made by the individual against Willis, and several attempts to secure her cooperation in an ongoing investigation against her, the House Judiciary Committee has opted to subpoena Fani Willis.
The House Judiciary Committee sent this letter to Willis on Friday informing her of the subpoena against her:
NBC News reports:
The former employee in the district attorney’s office told Willis that she was demoted after she warned a Willis campaign aide against misusing federal grant funding earmarked for a youth gang prevention effort, according to a recording of the call reported by the conservative Washington Free Beacon.
Two months later, the employee was “abruptly terminated” and “escorted out of her office by seven armed investigators,” Jordan’s letter says, quoting the report.
CNN reporter Zachary Cohen shared this statement from Fani Willis in response to the House Judiciary subpoena against her.
