This morning, FBI agents raided the office of Virginia State Sen. Louise Lucas, who is a close ally of Democrat Gov. Abigail Spanberger.

In addition to Lucas’ office, the FBI also raided a nearby marijuana dispensary that Lucas has a business interest in.

BREAKING: @FoxNews is on scene in Portsmouth, VA where the FBI is raiding the office of Virginia Senate President Pro Tempore L Louise Lucas, a Democrat and close ally of VA Governor Spanberger. Fed law enforcement sources tell FOX this is in connection to a major corruption probe, and the FBI is serving multiple search warrants, approved by a federal judge, at her office and a next door cannabis dispensary. More to come with correspondent @AlexHoganTV, who reports that Lucas just showed up on scene as the FBI searches her office.

The raid took place as part of an ongoing corruption probe related to the cannabis business, which is co-owned by Lucas.

The New York Times reported further:

The legislator, Louise Lucas of Portsmouth, is a senior leader in the State Senate, where she has served for more than 30 years. Two people familiar with the case said the search was related to an investigation opened during the Biden administration that has continued, examining possible corruption and bribery related to marijuana dispensary businesses.

F.B.I. agents executed a search warrant at Ms. Lucas’s office and a neighboring marijuana dispensary, according to people familiar with the matter, speaking on the condition of anonymity to describe an open investigation. Other locations were also searched, the people said.

In a written statement, the bureau’s Norfolk field office said that agents had been “executing a court-authorized federal search warrant in Portsmouth, Va.”

The office sits near several cannabis dispensaries Lucas has been associated with, adding another layer to the investigation.

This is not the first time Lucas’ name has made headlines…

In addition to the cannabis business scandal, she is known for being very…divisive…on social media.

For example, Lucas recently played a major role in pushing for the new, unconstitutional Virginia redistricting effort.

This is not the first political firestorm Lucas has faced.

In addition to serving as the Virginia Senate president pro tempore and chair of the Finance & Appropriations Committee, Lucas also is co-owner of a cannabis business. The cannabis shop previously has faced scrutiny after an investigation reported that some products were allegedly mislabeled or exceeded legal THC limits, raising regulatory concerns under Virginia law.

Lucas has been a longtime supporter of marijuana legalization in Virginia, co-sponsoring the 2021 law that legalized possession and continuing to back efforts to establish a regulated retail market.

Lucas is known for a bombastic social media presence, heavy on crude language and memes.

During heated statewide debate about the recently-passed Virginia redistricting map, Lucas sparred with critics on X, ripping President Donald Trump and mocking Republicans with a GIF of herself dancing to Famous Dex’s “Hoes Mad.”

She has asserted that Democrats will “fight fire with fire” regarding the redistricting fight and said, “You can bet your a– that Democrats are ready for this fight.”
