In a recent interview with President Donald Trump, Fox News host Bret Baier tried to defend Joe Biden’s storage of classified documents in his garage.

“Why did you have this very sensitive national security defense documents?” asked Baier.

“Like every other president, I take things out,” said Trump. “And in my case, I took it out pretty much in a hurry… people packed it up and we left.”

“And I had clothing in there, I had all sorts of personal items in there,” Trump added.

“Everything was declassified, because I had the right to declassify,” stated Trump, drawing a comparison to Biden’s mishandling of classified documents from his vice presidency:

“You wanna talk about a mess? Take a look at Biden, where he’s got 1,850 boxes. He’s got boxes stored in Chinatown in DC, he has boxes stored at Penn Center, and he has boxes under his Corvette and around his Corvette sitting in a garage for years where it was very seriously classified.

I have every right to have those boxes. This is purely a Presidential Records Act. This is not a criminal thing.”

Trump also spoke about how hard the mainstream media has fought him since the beginning of his political career, telling Baier, “One thing happens I find with me that, I think, didn’t happen so much with other presidents… The Times, the Washington Post, various people – even Fox ’cause, you know, I’m no great fan of Fox anymore – they fought me very hard in 2016, very much the way they’re fighting me now. And I won, and they became very nice.”

“But you’re sitting here,” interjected Baier, trying to call out Trump for appearing on a network he claims to dislike.

“Well, you’ve got to get your word out somehow, right?” Trump replied.

Baier also tried to claim that “more independent voters watch Fox News than any other TV source.”

“A whole lot less than used to watch it,” Trump shot back.

“They do watch,” insisted Baier, to which Trump replied, “A lot less, Brett.”
