News just broke that Karoline Leavitt is leaving the White House as part of a shift in priorities.
For the current and youngest WH Press Secretary in history, that shift primarily has to do with being the best mother she possibly can for her growing family.
But according to both Leavitt and President Trump — who both announcements a short time ago — there is even more to this change in roles than meets the eye.
They say when one door closes, another opens.
And Karoline Leavitt’s impending departure from the White House Press Secretary position just opened a completely new door for her involvement in US politics, according to this report from Fox News:
President Donald Trump announced that White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt will leave her role at the end of the month to spend more time with her family.
Trump announced Leavitt’s departure in a statement, saying she will remain in his orbit as an outside advisor and continue playing a role in Republican politics ahead of the midterm elections.
“Karoline will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to defy History, and conclusively win the Midterm Elections.”
Trump did not identify who will replace Leavitt as White House press secretary in the statement provided. (Emphasis added.)
President Trump made his announcement via a Truth Social post just a short time ago.
He emphasized his respect and understanding for Leavitt’s decision to prioritize her family in leaving her current White House role.
And he also hinted not only at the ‘outside advisor’ role referenced in that previous article…
But also that Leavitt would be playing an influential political role in the future.
Here’s President Trump’s full Truth Social post announcing the changes:

Here is the full text of the President’s announcement for convenience:
Our wonderful White House Press Secretary, and one of my most trusted aides, Karoline Leavitt, will be departing her role at the end of the month so she can spend more time with her beautiful young children and family, a decision I totally understand and respect! Karoline will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to defy History, and conclusively win the Midterm Elections. Karoline has been a real leader in the White House, and has done a phenomenal job fighting for Justice, Liberty, and Freedom, since 2018, including our Historic Re-Election Campaign of 2024. Karoline has been one of the best White House Press Secretaries in the History of the Office. Thank you, Karoline, for a job well done! President DONALD J. TRUMP
Leavitt described the decision to leave her Press Secretary role as ‘bittersweet’ in her own social media announcement.
The mother of two will stay on at the White House until the end of August, as reported by the Associated Press:
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, the youngest person to hold the role, will leave at month’s end, President Donald Trump announced Wednesday.
Leavitt, 28, just recently returned to the White House after taking a brief leave for the birth of her second child in May.
Leavitt recently returned to work after taking leave following the birth of her second child, a daughter, in May. She also has a two-year-old son.
“The truth is since returning to the White House after the birth of my daughter, I have felt in my heart that I cannot be the best mom my two young children deserve while devoting the constant time, energy, and attention required of the White House Press Secretary — and that is why I have ultimately made the bittersweet decision to depart the White House and embark on a new chapter in my life,” Leavitt said in a social media post.
Leavitt thanked President Trump in her post via X.
And she referenced the same ‘top advisor’ position that President Trump specified for her future involvement:
Serving as the White House Press Secretary over the past year and a half has been the honor and adventure of a lifetime. I am incredibly grateful to President Trump for granting me so many extraordinary opportunities, such as working in the West Wing and spending countless hours… https://t.co/4jyW61DGGh pic.twitter.com/xny1yccuBn

Here’s the full text of Leavitt’s post on X:
Serving as the White House Press Secretary over the past year and a half has been the honor and adventure of a lifetime. I am incredibly grateful to President Trump for granting me so many extraordinary opportunities, such as working in the West Wing and spending countless hours in the Oval Office, flying around the world and meeting foreign leaders, and traveling across our beautiful country and meeting Americans from all walks of life.
Most of all, I am thankful to the President for entrusting me with the distinct privilege of speaking on his behalf at the White House podium. I have spoken with great pride about the many historic accomplishments of this Administration, and I have relished holding the liberal media accountable and ensuring the American people hear the truth about President Trump’s successes.
Being a mother and welcoming a new baby while working in one of the most demanding jobs in the world has been the most rewarding yet challenging season of my life, to say the least. The truth is since returning to the White House after the birth of my daughter, I have felt in my heart that I cannot be the best mom my two young children deserve while devoting the constant time, energy, and attention required of the White House Press Secretary — and that is why I have ultimately made the bittersweet decision to depart the White House and embark on a new chapter in my life.
President Trump has asked me to continue serving as a top advisor to him on the outside, and I will always remain a vocal advocate for MAGA and the Republican Party.
Our country is facing an existential threat from an increasingly extremist Democrat Party that seeks to destroy everything great about America, and I believe it is incumbent upon all of us who care about this country to fight back against that threat. My fight is entering a new phase, but it is far from over.
Thank you again to the President, the First Lady, and the entire Trump family for your kindness and generosity over the years. Thank you to our amazing Chief of Staff Susie Wiles for empowering me since the day she hired me on the campaign, and to the President’s cabinet, my staff, colleagues, and friends at the White House who work so hard on behalf of our nation. It has been a privilege to serve alongside so many accomplished and impressive people, and I look forward to cheering them on over the next two and a half years.
And of course, thank you most especially to my loving and supportive husband and family for the sacrifices they made for me to serve in this role. (Emphasis added.)

Both the President and the outgoing Press Secretary mentioned not only a advisory role.
They also both mentioned a presence in the MAGA movement, the Republican Party, as well as politics and elections as a whole.
I can’t help but wonder what that might actually entail in the future.
If a knack for communicating isn’t a good attribute to build on for a possible political contender… I don’t know what is!
At the very least, I am expecting to see the always-fiery Karoline Leavitt stepping up to the plate inside the market of ideas to wage war against the “increasingly extremist Democrat Party” she mentioned in her social media post.
Or, maybe — Congresswoman Leavitt?
For the time being, I expect to see a lot more pictures like this coming from the Leavitt household rather than the White House Press Office:
She’s not just serving in the White House she’s doing it while being a mother.
Karoline Leavitt is showing the world that motherhood and ambition can go hand in hand. With her newborn baby by her side, she continues to work, lead, and serve her country.
A powerful reminder… pic.twitter.com/0ClAoBc3X5

Though, with that ‘Top Advisor’ position…
We might be seeing more of this, too:
Wow.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt brought her baby to the Oval Office—humanizing children in front of the most powerful people in the world.

One thing is sure; Karoline Leavitt has made an incredible contribution to the current Trump Administration and to MAKING America Great Again.
And she has done so without compromising her highest God-given calling — that of a wife and mother.
In a world that wants only to tear down the traditional Biblical roles of men and women and to replace them with ungodly and non-workable alternatives, that’s not an easy thing to do.
No word yet on who will fill the role of White House Press Secretary next.
But I’m just waiting on the Marco Rubio couch memes to appear.
Then again, doesn’t JD Vance have some experience at that position?
