Iconic vocalist and guitarist David Crosby reportedly died on Thursday at the age of 81.
Crosby was a member of The Byrds and later Crosby, Stills & Nash, a folk rock band that had multiple charting albums and songs.
The group eventually added another legendary artist, Neil Young, and became known as Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
Crosby reportedly died of an illness that he has been dealing with for a long period of time.
Crosby is succeeded by his four children and his wife of 45 years, Van Dance.
He was outspoken about his political views on social media and in public. Shortly before his death, he Tweeted out his support for Greta Thunberg after she was arrested at a protest in what many believed was a staged incident. He also claimed that protesters at the January 6th ‘Stop the Steal’ rally were uneducated.

Graham Nash, who was part of their band, left a tribute for Crosby after hearing of his death. The two often had a tense relationship throughout their musical careers.
“It is with a deep and profound sadness that I learned that my friend David Crosby has passed.
“I know people tend to focus on how volatile our relationship has been at times, but what has always mattered to David and me more than anything was the pure joy of the music we created together,” Nash wrote, “the sound we discovered with one another, and the deep friendship we shared over all these many long years.”
