President Trump just rolled out a new piece of his White House security vision, and it is not small.
He is calling it the “DronePort.”
The announcement came through Truth Social, where President Trump shared a dramatic visual tied to the White House Ballroom and said the system will help safeguard Washington, D.C. long into the future.
This is the key point: he is framing the project as modern capital defense, not decoration.

President Trump’s argument is simple.
America cannot protect the nation’s capital in the drone age with the same tools used in a different century.
He tied the DronePort directly to new threats and said Washington, D.C. can no longer be defended with “rifles and pistols” alone.
He also took direct aim at Judge Richard Leon, accusing him of playing games with America’s security and allowing sensitive information to be released through what Trump called a ridiculous lawsuit.

With the advent of highly sophisticated, and powerful, modern day weaponry, we can no longer defend Washington, D.C., with rifles and pistols, alone.

That is classic President Trump: build the thing, name the obstacle, and put the security stakes right in front of the public.
The ballroom project itself has already become part of the broader White House construction fight.

The legal fight will move through the courts.
But Trump is making the political and security argument now: if America’s enemies are using modern weapons, the White House cannot be defended like it is still 1926.
And if the DronePort is really meant to harden the capital against future aerial threats, the obvious question is why any judge would want to slow that down.
