Based on the highly provocative statements of the Former President of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, who is now the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, I have ordered two Nuclear Submarines to be positioned in the appropriate regions, just in case these foolish and inflammatory statements are more than just that. Words are very important, and can often lead to unintended consequences, I hope this will not be one of those instances. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

On Monday, Medvedev posted on X that “each ultimatum is a threat and a step towards war.”

Here’s that full post:

This was in response to President Trump cutting down Russian President Vladimir Putin’s 50-day deadline to end the war with Ukraine to less than 2 weeks.

Fox News noted:

While Trump announced on July 14 that he would sign off on “severe tariffs” against Russia if Moscow failed to agree to a peace deal within 50 days, Trump said Monday that waiting that period of time was futile amid stalled negotiations.

“I’m going to make a new deadline, of about 10 — 10 or 12 days from today,” Trump told reporters from Scotland. “There’s no reason for waiting. It was 50 days. I wanted to be generous, but we just don’t see any progress being made.”

Trump’s remarks come as his frustration with Putin has grown in recent weeks amid no progress toward peace between Russia and Ukraine, and just a day after Russia launched more than 300 drones, four cruise missiles and three ballistic missiles into Ukraine, according to the Ukrainian air force.

Yesterday, Medvedev doubled down in his threats against President Trump and the U.S. in a post he made on Telegram.

Newsweek reported:

Trump on Friday responded to the latest remarks from Medvedev, the former president of Russia, who on Thursday made a veiled nuclear threat against the Trump administration.

“About Trump’s threats against me on his personal ‘Truth’ social media network, which he’s banned in our country,” he wrote in a Telegram post. “If some words from the former president of Russia trigger such a nervous reaction from the high-and-mighty president of the United States, then Russia is doing everything right and will continue to proceed along its own path.”

He continued, “And about India’s and Russia’s ‘dead economies’ and ‘entering very dangerous territory’ – well, let him remember his favorite movies about ‘the walking dead’, as well as how dangerous the fabled ‘Dead Hand’ can be.”

The “Dead Hand” remark is a reference to the Russian nuclear command system that allows it to launch its nuclear weapons if its leadership were to be taken out by a strike.

President Trump has made it clear that he isn’t messing around.

He knows what he is doing, and I trust him on this.
