President Trump just enacted the Defense Protection Act to order General Motors to quickly make ventilators to help with the need during the coronavirus crisis.

According to an earlier tweet from President Trump, “Mary” forced his hand. He called GM’s Mary Bara out in his tweet saying “always a mess with Mary B. Invoke ‘P’ which means he’s got to invoke the Defense Protection Act.

“As usual with ‘this’ General Motors, things just never seem to work out. They said they were going to give us 40,000 much-needed Ventilators, “very quickly”. Now they are saying it will only be 6000, in late April, and they want top dollar. Always a mess with Mary B. Invoke ‘P’.” – President Trump

The president announced that he had enacted the Defense Production Act during the Coronavirus Task Force press conference this afternoon:

“This afternoon I invoked the Defense Production Act to compel General Motors to accept, perform and prioritize federal contracts for ventilators… We will not hesitate to use the full authority of the federal government to combat this crisis.”

A White House statement was released ordering GM to make ventilators under the Defense Protection Act:

The bottom line in the statement is to have GM “accept, perform and prioritize federal contracts for ventilators.”

Please pray for President Trump. He’s up against so many who want him to fail. He needs our prayers right now.
