President Trump just posted unclassified footage of a U.S. military strike, and the target was one of the most infamous names tied to Tren de Aragua.

According to Trump, U.S. Southern Command delivered a lethal strike against Hector Rusthenford Guerrero Flores, better known as Niño Guerrero.

The footage was posted with Trump’s announcement:

The announcement immediately drew attention from conservatives watching Trump’s crackdown on cartel networks and foreign terrorist gangs.

President Trump posted the full text transcript of the statement on Trump’s Truth:

At my direction, the United States Southern Command delivered a swift and lethal kinetic strike to successfully execute Niño Guerrero, the infamous leader of Tren De Aragua, one of the most bloodthirsty Terrorist Organizations on Planet Earth. Before I returned to office, Joe Biden opened our Southern Border to millions of Illegal Criminals, and allowed this foreign army to rape, maim, and murder American Citizens with total impunity.

During my Campaign, I pledged to expel these monsters from our Country, and bring Justice to the families of those they slaughtered, including the precious 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, 22-year-old Laken Reilly, and countless other beautiful souls. With this action, the United States Military has brought retribution for them, their families, and their loved ones.

Early in my Administration, I delivered on my promise to designate Tren de Aragua as a Foreign Terrorist Organization, deport thousands of evil criminals, and wage war against the Cartels, who have long been waging war against our Citizens, while weak leaders left America helpless and defensive. This action was coordinated closely with our friends in Venezuela, with whom we are working very well.

As a result, Tren de Aragua terrorists no longer have safe haven in Venezuela or anywhere else and, under my leadership, we will find these vicious murderers and drugs lords anytime, anyplace, and send them to the depths of hell where they belong.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

President DONALD J. TRUMP

That is the language of a president treating Tren de Aragua as a wartime-level threat to American citizens.

Guerrero had already been charged by the federal government before Trump’s announcement.

The Justice Department said Guerrero had been charged in Manhattan federal court in connection with his leadership role in Tren de Aragua.

The background on Guerrero is brutal.

The Treasury Department put Guerrero’s role in blunt terms:

Today, the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctioned Hector Rusthenford Guerrero Flores (a.k.a. “Niño Guerrero”)—the head of Tren de Aragua—and five other key Tren de Aragua leaders and affiliates.

Tren de Aragua is a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) that originated in Venezuela and continues to expand.

Niño Guerrero has grown Tren de Aragua from a prison gang involved in extortion and bribery to an influential organization that threatens public safety throughout the Western Hemisphere.

Tren de Aragua is involved in the illicit drug trade, human smuggling and trafficking, extortion, sexual exploitation of women and children, and money laundering, among other criminal activities.

“Today’s action highlights the critical role of leaders like Niño Guerrero and his lieutenants in Tren de Aragua’s efforts to increase its destabilizing influence throughout the region,” said Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent.

“The Trump Administration will not allow Tren de Aragua to continue to terrorize our communities and harm innocent Americans.

In line with President Trump’s mandate to Make America Safe Again, Treasury remains dedicated to dismantling Tren de Aragua and disrupting the group’s campaign of violence.”

Hector Rusthenford Guerrero Flores (a.k.a. “Niño Guerrero”) is the notorious head of Tren de Aragua.

Niño Guerrero has been involved in criminal activities for over two decades and has expanded Tren de Aragua from a prison gang involved in extortion and bribery to an organization with growing influence throughout the Western Hemisphere.

On July 11, 2024, the State Department issued a reward for up to $5 million for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of Niño Guerrero.

ICE also listed Guerrero as a Venezuelan citizen and a TdA gang leader.

The old system put a $5 million reward on Guerrero.

President Trump’s message Friday night was very different: the man America had charged, sanctioned, and hunted was struck by the United States military.

The Associated Press reported that the Pentagon had nothing to add beyond Trump’s Truth Social post.

Trump’s warning to Tren de Aragua was unmistakable.

Under his leadership, the gang’s leaders can run out of hiding places very quickly.
