Tensions continue to rise between China and India as a recent battle took place at the India/China border just last night:
In certain areas on the border, India and China have different “perceptions” where each countries border actually ends. Because of this uncertainty, both armies patrol closely and will have “face-offs” at the border.
According to the Times of India, “violent clashes” broke out overnight at Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh where there is the LAC (Line of Actual Control).
Previous reports are that tensions have been running high since reports of a scuffle between the soldiers at the border a few months ago. Both the armies have since deployed a large number of soldiers and heavy military equipment along the India/China border.
There are 20 deaths reported on the Indian side and 43 on the Chinese side.
A great overview of what happened last night from Baijayant Jay Panda:
“…the first casualties in several decades”
Short video on the face off with China along the #LAC in eastern #Ladakh that has seen the first casualties in several decades. It is important for all Indians to stand united as one to back our armed forces. Jai Hind 🙏#PandaTalks 5 pic.twitter.com/2MC5yoDSgc
