However, Gaetz himself just posted minutes ago claiming he was attending to a personal matter and was not “summoned” anywhere.
See here:

ADVERTISEMENTPresident Trump and his entire administration are doing an incredible job and they have my TOTAL and COMPLETE support.
Maybe @charliekirk11 will let me come on his show next week and give the speech I wrote

I would still love to see Gaetz working at the DOJ.
And I would absolutely LOVE to see him in this role:
Appoint Special Prosecutor @mattgaetz to investigate, without any guardrails, anything and everything Jeffrey Epstein.
Total transparency. Then watch the nuclear meltdown.@realDonaldTrump pic.twitter.com/ROIWLCCck4

Fun fact: serving as a Special Prosecutor does not require Congressional Approval and could be put in place by President Trump immediately!
Here is Robert Barnes, a top trial lawyer, speaking with Benny Johnson and explaining exactly how Gaetz as Special Prosecutor would operate and how it would all work:

That’s what I voted for….do that!
Let’s go Mr. President, please make it happen!
