President Trump released a statement tonight to announce the death of his younger brother.
Robert Trump was 71-years old, and in his statement, the president called him his “best friend”:
The president took a detour on Friday on his way to Bedminster, NJ, to visit his brother at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan. He spoke briefly during an earlier press conference about his brother’s hospitalization, only to say, “I have a wonderful brother. We have a great relationship for a long time, from day one, so long time ago. And he’s in the hospital right now. Hopefully, he’ll be alright, but he’s…he’s pretty…he’s having a hard time.”

Robert Trump began his career on Wall Street but found his way to become a part of the Trump empire.
Robert Trump was a huge supporter of his older brother’s run for the presidency. In a 2016 interview with the New York Post, he said, “I support Donald one thousand percent.”
Prayers to President Trump and his family.
“It is with heavy heart I share that my wonderful brother, Robert, peacefully passed away tonight. He was not just my brother, he was my best friend. He will be greatly missed, but we will meet again. His memory will live on in my heart forever. Robert, I love you. Rest in peace.” – President Donald J. Trump
