Russian President Vladimir Putin said Russia is in favor of the U.S.-led 30-day ceasefire proposal supported by Ukraine but added that any agreement for permanent peace must remove the “root causes” of the conflict.
“We agree with the proposal for a ceasefire, to cease hostilities, but we proceed from the fact that this ceasefire should lead to an enduring peace and should remove the root causes of this crisis,” Putin said, according to CNBC.
